12GB Scan File?

I'm trying to recover a bunch of stuff from a lost file system (see http://forum.r-tt.com/file-system-recovery-t8162.html). I just updated R-STUDIO from 5.3 to 5.4 (latest build), and when I scan a 5.46TB RAID volume, I am getting a 12+ GB scan file (save while scan). R-STUDIO then crashes/hangs when I try to open the found file list. This system has 8GB RAM and it still fails.

What do I do?
