Just disable the secure bootup and test the startup disk.

Using R-Drive Startup Disk on win 8.1/Surface pro

I cannot test the R-Drive startup disk I created on my MS Surface Pro 2 with Windows 8.1. The conventional BIOS options (bootup sequence) do not exist in the post-Bios UEFI setup, and I cannot get the R-Drive startup disk to boot the computer as long as the OS Drive is ok. The UEFI interface does have the option to enable or disable the "secure bootup" feature, but I don't know what that is.
