Images are exact copies of the data on real disk objects. Therefore, it doesn't matter whether you use the actual hard disk or its image.

Hello

I made a scan of a hd with several extfs-paritions and saved the scan-results. But after some days, I am not
anymores sure if the source was the physical harddisk or the backup-dd-image of the drive in question :-(

What are the consequences if I would open the "scan-result-file" made from a physical harddisk, if this disk
is not anymore attached, instead i pointed R-Studio to the dd-image? Would this fact influence the recovery-chance?
