You may try to use our R-Linux for free. There're its versions for Windows and Linux. A general guide for your case is: Data Recovery from an External Disk with a Damaged File System. This article is about R-Studio and Windows, but its general points can be applied to R-Linux and Linux, too.

(Sorry for my "poor" English)
I unfortunately did the New Partition Table command with Gparted on an external HD. Fileformat is ext4. Does there exist any useful software to undo this command?
