Meanwhile, a way around is to specify an area on the disk(s) to scan a little bit smaller than the disk, for R-Studio not to reach the problem area. If R-Studio hangs at the end of the disk, chances are small that there's something important on that disk area.
I believe that there are bad sectors at disk's end that cause the problem.
