Can you send me File snapshot of the system from which you are recovering files?
Tools -> Settings -> Enable the Debug Mode option.
On the Device View panel, right-click the partition you are recovering files from -> Create FS Snap shot -> select Extended snapshot.
I expect you'll get quite large files, and I'll tell you where to put them.

We'll examine these files and help you to solve this problem with stopped recovery.

I understand I can manually deselect the inclusion of these folders in the All Files list on the left navigation window. The recovery then works to the Z: Drive.

My remaining question is: Is there any way to automatically exclude the .@ directories from the left list, as I've not found a way to do it yet and preserve the surrounding directory structure?

Also deslecting the .@ directories manually is prone to the error of me missing some, which means I can't just kick off a mass unsupervised recovery.

I did a small google research and it told me that .@__thumb folders are used to create thumbnails or small pictures of video/image files. You don't need them and you can't create them yourself. Only your QNAP system can do it.

So forget about these files and folders and ignore those error messages about those files.

The user I'm connecting the network drive as is the admin user which I setup when configuring the QNAP NAS.

Interesting that doing it to a local SSD works.

I have full admin write permissions to the Z: drive, so I'm not sure why it objects to that folder.

The challenge I have doing locally is that I don't have enough local disk to do this recover to.

Is the Z: a network folder? If yes, please recover 1 or 2 files to a local disk, like D:.

One of more .@ folders in the selected recovery list on the source disc, and it always the first one which fails and gets stuck retrying.
