R-Drive can no longer image to a smaller drive

I recently renewed my license to get the new version. I was on R-Drive 6 which has no problems imaging a disc image to a smaller drive as long as there is enough free space. When I try to do the same thing in 7.7009 I get an instant popup error: "Unable to copy source HDD to destination one using all possible copy methods". This is using the USB boot tool and if grab my old USB tool it works fine on the same drives.

I recall this breaking in a certain version of 6 as well.
