Re: What is a LVM Protective Partition?

I did try to open the volumes but I wasn't able to read any contents even after a full scan. As mentioned I could read it with other software, so the LVM is not encrypted...

Re: What is a LVM Protective Partition?

Update -- I guess it isn't encrypted as I can ready it with Paragon Linux File Systems for Windows.... Perhaps R-Studio just doesn't support LVM?

What is a LVM Protective Partition?

Hi all,

I had a FreePBX phone server die on a client the other day. In an effort to make restoration as quick and easy as possible, I took the SSD out and created a byte-for-byte image with R-Studio.

Now, I was looking to just pull specific files out of the drives, but I am only seeing a LVM ...

Recovering CompactFlash Card (MP3 Data)

Hi all,

I have a customer that uses a Marantz PMD560 solid state audio recorder to record audio in MP3 data. The problem reported is that someone accidentally turned the recorder off before stopping record on the unit. The device shows files but they are 0 bytes. I tried running R-Studio but it ...

Recovering 4-Drive Array - Identifying Parameters

Hi all,

I have 4x 1TB hard drives that were on a Highpoint RocketRAID 2210 PCI-X card. The array works just fine (I think), but the system the card and drives were in bit the dust. I don't have another PC with a PCI-X slot in it. I've put the drives in another PC one by one and made byte-by-byte ...

Re: File System Recovery

OK, I removed the drives and mounted them individually and created a virtual RAID block. I used 512 byte block size and left synchronous for Oxford 936SE. It found the same files as it did in the enclosure.

I'm guessing this means the data is hosed?

Time to start over I guess.

Re: File System Recovery

OK, I will certainly try that. Can you briefly explain why it can't be treated as one volume/disk? That's a little beyond my knowledge of how this stuff works.

12GB Scan File?

I'm trying to recover a bunch of stuff from a lost file system (see http://forum.r-tt.com/file-system-recovery-t8162.html ). I just updated R-STUDIO from 5.3 to 5.4 (latest build), and when I scan a 5.46TB RAID volume, I am getting a 12+ GB scan file (save while scan). R-STUDIO then crashes/hangs ...
