Re: WD My Passport

Write protected error usually signifies some error during decryption. Wrong decryption controller, incorrect password entered too many times or key at the surface cant be read because of some error.

Re: Has anyone ever recovered data from a WD sharespace NAS?

Often boot sector is around 364 sectors after offset. Will need to create region, assuming disk order is good.

Filesystem will be EXT3, easily recovered within r-studio

Re: Old and invalid registration key message during update

No, the e-mails were sent by a colleague so will be a different email address than the one I use here

We purchased a site licence to account for as much as 64 machines running R-Studio. It was not cheap, yet if all 64 machines update to new version today then we have 64 data recovery workstations ...

Re: Old and invalid registration key message during update

Can you give me contact address for this?

It is very disappointing that this is such an issue. I update my version but cannot use it and I have sent emails but got no response.

How to deal with this? Licence I have should be valid for updates, but never works.

Re: Thecus NAS RAID 0 recovery

Hi,
I have 5x 1TB disks in RAID0 on Thecus NAS 5200. One disk is very unstable... with R-Studio, if I create 5 mirror image of the disks (of course if the bad disk is accessible...but the problem is certainly of the logic board so i can use one of the 4 functional..), with virtual RAID can I ...

Re: When is it too late?

Now the HD is making that clicking noise that we've all heard and it's no longer recognized at all. Is it past the stage where I could recover any data from it?

This is a result of the internal Head assembly seeking the media surface in failed attempts to read until it hits an internal 'limiter ...

Re: Support for ZFS (Zeta filesystem - solaris)

What filesystems will be supported in future versions? Are there plans for XFS?
