Hi there,
I have an external USB drive (2 TB) which cannot mount anymore on my MacOS. The application Disk Utility shows:
Could not mount “DISKNAME”. (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 49217.)
What I tried:
Made an image using R-Studio ("Create Image").
Then I used Parallels and R-Drive Image to restore the image to a fresh APFS formatted new USB drive. The process took 36 hours.
However, if I try to mount the new drive, I get the same error as with the original broken drive.
Any idea how to solve this?

How to recover an APFS formatted USB drive showing error 49217 on MacOS' Disk Utility?

The best way to recover this drive is to recover all files individually and then copy them to the new drive.
Did R-Studio show any files on the image? Can you preview them?
