Extra Files Found - Too many to recover!

Post by theritage » Wed Jan 07, 2015 4:19 pm

Hi All

Im trying to recover some mp3's/AAC files that I used for iTunes, after the disc partion they were stored on was accidentally reformatted.

The files can only be found in the "extra found files" section of the drive scan results. There seems to be a lot of of extra files/data in this section, far more than the size of the drive, but I've tried to recover a couple of files but they seem to be massive in size (200/300 mb!!). Which seems ridiculous as each file should only be 3/4 mb at most. There is probably about 150GB of relevant mp3s in the original folder.

Anyone have any tips to filter the correct files from the scan results so I can recover the relevant files?

Thanks all!
Toby

Actually, one has to look into the data on your disk to see what's going on, but you may find this article useful: File Recovery Basics: How Data Recovery Works.
