How to distinguish between an incremental image and a differential image from a plain image?
I had a similar situation to this link: https://forum.r-tt.com/viewtopic.php?t=12480
However, my images are plain images created on the "Create Image" page.
How to distinguish between an incremental image and a differential image from a plain image?
Thanks in advance.

Plain images are much, much larger.Wade wrote: ↑Thu Jan 29, 2026 1:19 pmHow to distinguish between an incremental image and a differential image from a plain image?

Re: How to distinguish between incremental and differential images?
Thank you for your quick reply.
I created several images from the "Create Image" page, including full, differential, and incremental images.
I know the full image is the largest, but how do I distinguish between differential and incremental images?
For example: There are C-image.rdr, C-image2.rdr, and C-image3.rdr.
C-image.rdr is the full image. How do I distinguish which of 2 and 3 is the differential image and which is the incremental image?

What was the base image for the images? If the plain image, you can't tell the difference. Otherwise, incremental images usually are smaller.

Re: How to distinguish between incremental and differential images?
1. C-image.rdr is the first full image created (created on the "Create Image" page). Does this mean that C-image.rdr is both the base image and a plain image?
2. Is it unimportant whether the image is a differential image or an incremental image? What is the correct way to manage these images?

Re: How to distinguish between incremental and differential images?
A plain image = a full image? I assume yes. [url=https://www.drive-image.com/DriveImage_ ... nimage.htm]Restore Data from an Image[/url. The screenshot. The right pane -> the bottom section. You select the plain image and this section will show the dates of its differential/incremental images.Wade wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 11:53 am1. This page should help: Create an Image, then click the Imaging Options link. The table describes differential/incremental images.Wade wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 11:53 am2.
