possible to recover files from formated M.2 nvme?

Post by chengda » Fri Sep 13, 2024 11:48 pm

I formated my m.2 drive because my computer was having problems and reinstalled windows, but in my haste I forgot to back up a folder I put on the desktop, I tried using R Undelete to find the folder but it doesnt seem to be able to, is it because it is a SSD drive? However R undelete was able to find some other random old files shown in "extra found files", like pictures and documents and stuff, so I was wondering how it was able to find some files but not the other ones I was looking for? is it possible to recover the lost folder or am I out of luck? I would like to have the files back but they are not worth spending several hundred dollars to hire a professional for. I have just turned off TRIM but it's been several hours so I dont know if that will help.

Unfortunately, File Recovery Specifics for SSD and Other Devices Supporting the TRIM/UNMAP command. R-Undelete found some leftovers. TRIM in Windows works almost immediately.
