Can bad sectors be excluded from a drive image?

Post by skypickle » Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:42 am

I have a bad drive from a RAID 5 array. 4 sectors bad.
Is there a way to find out which files the bad sectors belong to?
Can I then ignore those sectors from imaging ?

This way I can reconstruct the array and know which files are corrupt.

4 bad sectors isn't much. You may create an image in a normal way. Then, when you are through with marking files to recover, select Skip files with bad sectors on the Recover dialog box.
