Rebuild RAID6 on TS 869 Pro QNAP
Rebuild RAID6 on TS 869 Pro QNAP
I am trying to rebuild a RAID 6 configuration on a QNAP TS-869 Pro.
Does anyone know the default block size?
Do they use reed solomon or xor?
Any configuration help would be appreciated.

What has been the source of the problem?
Have you played with the drives?
Some premises are needed.
E.g. Are all the drives healthy?
Thank you

I'd first start by reading the RAID meta data to read the RAID config and be sure which drives were last online.

I think the box failed. It is hard to get much from the client, but 4 drives were listed as failed, but all test OK.
As far as we know, the RAID has not been played with

In the doubt,
Obviously and as ever
1th and must have to do: clone all the drives and work with the copies (read directives in my signature's link at bottom)
Next you can use auto-detect features of R-Studio

Re: Rebuild RAID6 on TS 869 Pro QNAP
Worked it out by studying the raw data.
If anyone is interested -
block size 64K
reed solomon -6 (not 6E)
Left Syncronous.
Thanks for the replies.

Yes, it's always nice when people post the follow up solution to the problem. Way too many topics on these forums are just left hanging with an open problem even though the case was eventually solved.
