R-Studio Data Recovery

Post by pDiamond » Sat Mar 20, 2021 9:56 pm

I have an old hard drive from over 10 years ago and have an external hard drive docking station to connect it to. According to Crystal Disk Info the drive is still healthy. Would you still recommend making a clone of the drive before connecting to it to scan and browse the files?

And lastly, if I were to clone it can I keep the clone on my main C: drive, and run r-studio on it from that location? Or Should I get a new hard drive to store the clone prior to running r-studio?

Thank you

1. 10 year old disks are small and may be very unstable. So, it's a good idea to have it imaged,
2. You may keep the image file at any place available.

I forgot to add Point 3:
3. You may scan the disk while imaging to save time. See the R-Studio help pages Images and Disk scan for more details.
