wiped out c drive and need to mount r drive image to copy files
I've wiped out my c drive and installed a new operating system. I don't want to restore the entire drive from my backup since the operating system was messed up. I do want to mount the drive that is on my external hard drive and copy files from the downloads directory and other directories to my current downloads directory and other directories. How do I do that? I get errors saying the mounted drive is write protected and I don't have permission to change the permissions of the folders. I don't have the same account on my new operating system that I had on my old one. I don't know how to fix this. Could you please help me with this? Thanks.

Is there a way to recover only certain files from an image? I have the image created of my old c drive. I want to pick off certain files from that image and choose where to put them. Is that possible?

Never Mind. I figured it out. Sorry.
