R-studio stops responding

Post by Thornton »

Hello

After scanning my 2 TB Raid 5 R-studio stops responding. It manages to scan the disks (or open the saved scan) but when i try to open a recognized0-10 "partition" to view the file R-studio just stops responding.
No matter how long i wait (have tried 10 hours) r-studio never responds again - so basically my scan is worthless and i can't recover my files.

Im using version 5.0 of the 64 bit edition.

Regards

We would like to look at the scan info you saved. Please note that this info DOES NOT contain the actual data on your disk, just its structure. please let us know ff you can upload it to our FTP, we will send the log/pass to your e-mail you registered with in our forum.
If you cannot do that, then go to the Tools menu -> Settings -> Main tab and select Debug mode. Then load the scan info and right-click the disk. Select Create FS Snap Shot and save this info. Contact our tech support and provide them with the FS snapshot and a reference to this topic.

I can do both. Only problem is the size of the scan information - it's about 1.3 Gb.
No problem for me, so if you will accept it we are good to go

Same thing happens to me as well!!

R-Studio scans my SeagateFreeAgent 1TB hard drive, however stops responding at 99% every time i try to open a recognized partition. The size of the scanned information is 400mb.

Is there a solution?

Thanks in advance,
van

Did you try our last version? Some problems with freezing at scan have been resolved.

Have anyone any solution of this problem?
I tried the Demo version and the scan completed on a 3TB Seagate but open files stopped after 1,177,565 entries found.
I thought that there might be a limitation in the Demo version but same result after paying 79.99$.
So I hope there is a way to get round this error and that it can be shared to us other with the same problem, I don't want to pay for nothing more than a completed scan.
If I open files by extension I can restore files but no folder structures and my last restoration workload krasched so now R-Studio technicianshas something to read tonight.

When enumerating files on a partition, R-Studio deeply analyzes the entire file and folder structure on the disk. Sometimes, when the file system is somehow damaged, it may stall.
As each such cause is very specific, there may be no common solution to that problem. Please, contact our techsupport, they'll help you to solve it.

I have the same issue.
When scanning a LSI hw RAID5 volume of 7,3TB, Dynamic GPT disk on Windows Server 20012, the process stalls at 99%. The scan file is written to disk (different disk). When trying to load the scan file (after killing the hung R-Studio process), enumeration of scan file also stops at 99%.
I'm using R-Studio NTFS 6.1.153547.
What can I do to get pass this problem and hopefully start recovering files?

Check for system's available memory during scanning.

If r-studio process is near physical memory's size this is the answer ...
