Ok so I think I understand now what happened.
Seems that it was CCleaner .
That's how the set up looks like :

What exactly was on APFS ?

I just remembered that I've messed up with the CCleaner .
As far as I know this got to do only with the browser cleaning.
But could it be that it deleted some files on pc through the download history of the browser ?

Thanks a lot for your reply.
Yes I do have a an SSD and to be honest I was thinking about same kind of reasoning .
I remember deleting some files few days back (not involving the ones which disappeared).
Not sure it was a system crash but from what I remember it run out of battery over ...

Hello all ,

So basically some data like : pictures ; disk images from my pc (MAC) disappeared.
The funny thing is that in some particular folders just some pictures disappeared some are still there.
I tried few softs like Diskdrill but wasn't able to find anything except some trashed files 6 months ...
