Create image from RAW image file

Hi!

How to create compressed image from RAW ddrescue image. It's possible to make image from every existing partition on that RAW disk. But you can't make whole RAW disk as image!

If I create Region Start Sector 0 and End Sector (Disk whole sectors count) and create compressed image is it same as Physical disk image?
