Byte pattern for EXT3 Boot Sector

Post by Drakestar » Mon May 06, 2013 1:44 pm

I'm trying to figure out the RAID parameters for my failed ReadyNAS NV+ X-Raid drives, and I'm following the tutorial here: http://www.r-tt.com/Articles/Finding_RA ... ndex.shtml

I'm trying to locate the boot sector for the drive containing the MBR. Unfortunately, the tutorial uses a NTFS drive as the example, and my drives are EXT3. What byte pattern/string do I search for to find the boot sector? Google hasn't been helpful so far.

Wikipedia has a very good description of the ext fs.

Did you happen to figure out the parameters required?
